Crochet Vlog: Making 3 Blankets
Check out the video on my youtube channel to follow along as I crochet 3 different blankets! I am so happy with how they turned out and I hope you enjoy the video!
The Patterns I Used:
If you are interested in crocheting a baby blanket like one of the ones I made in the video, check out the Evelyn Blanket Crochet Pattern by That Crochet Life. This is the free pattern (not my own) that I used to create the two blankets with the scalloped edges!
I should disclaim that I did not follow the pattern with 100% accuracy. My creations were, however, 100% inspired by the Evelyn Blanket and I wouldn't have been able to create what I did without consulting That Crochet Life's website!
I'm also just obsessed with That Crochet Life at the moment. I want to make every single one of the crochet patterns on the website (especially the Amelia Blanket- IT'S SO CUTE!).
Other Patterns I Used:
The crochet pattern that inspired me to create the rust/red-orange colored blanket was actually a kitchen towel pattern!
Once I started making the towel pattern, I quickly realized I was actually not going to like it as a kitchen towel. It must have had to do with the type of yarn I was using but I just remember thinking, "This stitch pattern would make for a really great blanket instead!"
Turns out I was right! I decided to take that same stitch pattern but use it to make a blanket instead- and I love the way it turned out.

The Supplies I Used
I created three very different blankets. Even though I used the same pattern for both the "Mauve baby blanket" and the "Soft Taupe baby blanket," they turned out very different because of the type of yarn I chose for each.
The Mauve blanket was smaller and had finer details while the Soft Taupe one was chunkier and therefore much larger in size. I used a smaller weight yarn for the Mauve and used two stands of a medium weight yarn for the Soft Taupe one. See below for the exact yarn brands and colors that I used for each!
Blanket #1: Mauve Baby Blanket
Blanket #2: Soft Taupe Baby Blanket
Blanket #3: Sedona Throw Blanket
The Crochet Hook Set I Use:
I also promised I'd link the crochet hook set that I use so if you are interested in that you can find it below! I highly recommend this set- especially if you are just starting off with crochet. It is the only set I have had to purchase and has everything you need to get started.
It includes 22 Crochet hooks (sizes 0.5mm-6.5mm) which is great! Having different hook sizes to work with gives you the opportunity to make a wide range of things and experience all different types of yarn.
It also comes with Stitch Markers, Yarn Scissors, & Yarn Needles. These are all essential tools you will need for any project. Not to mention, all of these things come neatly tucked in a zip-up case to take with you wherever you go.
